Freelance Database Engineer Social Profit DataTrust (m/w/x) - 2d/w
Context
The Social Profit DataTrust Fund is looking for a database engineer in order to continue the development of its data platform (“DataTrust”). The Social Profit Data Trust Fund is a data fund managed by the King Baudouin Foundation and co-created by five partner organizations: Bruxeo, ConcertES, UNIPSO, UNISOC and Verso.
The objective of the fund is to
- To collect and structure data about the social profit sector in a sustainable way
 - Secure and facilitate access to this data for its members
 - Improve the visibility of the social profit sector
 - Facilitate the sharing and use of this data for the general interest and the academic world
 - Provide shared tools to explore and analyse data
 - To inspire other similar European initiatives
 
Your responsibilities
- Implement and maintain dataflows from external data sources to our data platform
 - Implement and maintain different layers in the data platform: SQL server (staging, ODS), Analysis Services (cube), Power BI
 - Implement and maintain business logic transformations of data and ETL between the different layers (C#, Azure Data Factory, SQL scripts, Python scripts, etc)
 - Optimize and develop hosting and data architecture
 - Ensure data quality: regular testing and controls
 - Ensure data security at all stages
 - Develop and maintain good data visualization in Power BI
 - Manage user access
 - Train technical users on the different components
 - Document and update current documentation
 - Report regularly on the advancement of the project to the partners (regular meetings) and implement their needs
 - Follow-up tickets and project management
 
Your profile
- Hard skills: SQL, C#, Python, Azure Data Factory, Azure Analytics Services, Power BI
 - Very good knowledge of databases and Microsoft Azure cloud technologies
 - Good project management skills
 - Good written and verbal communication skills
 - Affinity with the sector: social organisation, non-profit, social economy
 - Affinity for general interest project
 - Fluent in at least two of the following languages: NL, FR and EN
 - Having access to powerful hardware and good internet connection to work on big data project
